TWIP notes is back this week since there were a few minor things going on, but not enough to make a full posting of substance. That said, let’s get into it…
We found out that (Double) Community Day will be May 24 and will feature Seeddot. It would have been nice had it been a Sinnoh to match Sinnoh Week in the Throwback Challenge, but at least Seeddot is a double evolution (I’m STILL looking at you, Vulpix!) and is a new shiny, which seems to be major consideration. I’m looking forward to welcoming Seeddot and its evolutions to my shiny team.
Is it just me, or are people having a tough time taking a snapshot of their buddy? I seem to have to take at least 6-12 snapshots before it takes and gives me a heart. This is more of a pain than anything, but I remember when it was one picture, one heart.
I welcomed a couple new Best Buddies earlier this week too…
Glad to welcome these two to the mix. They join Wailord (PUCKY), Machamp, and my first Swampert Best Buddy and nearly doubled the population with the Best Buddy Badge. It will be a while until I get a get my sixth Best Buddy though. No buddy qualifies for the Buddy4 search (Level 3 Buddy). Right now I am working on a couple Level 2 Buddies with a third that I started on but is not a focus right now. I hope within the next couple of days to get numbers 4 and 5. Most of my buddies I am working on just with the easy 4 hearts (treat, play, snapshot, battle) and if I get a bonus (L2) or two (L3), that’s even better.
I’m not happy that my Gifting Friends List Sort is still not fixed. I thought it was supposed to with a recent update, but that update did not help. Very frustrating.
I’m also enjoying the Throwback Challenges, especially now that the raid requirement is no longer mandatory. I’d rather not have to power up or evolve a Pokemon to earn a research goal. I like doing power ups and evolves on my time with the Pokemon I am focusing on. Maybe I am not ready or not able to power up a Pokemon I am focusing on. For example, I am focusing on my L40 perfect Rapidash to get it a 2nd Charged Attack. I cannot power up or evolve it. At least I have a couple that I have some back ups now for these quests, but I like doing them on my time. Thankfully, these are much less onerous than the raid requirement.
I also liked last week’s double stardust bonus. Always appreciated.
A big thumbs down to the powers that be announcing a 1/2 distance egg bonus that does not stack for this week. We already have a 1/2 distance bonus with the COVID-19 situation, so saying that we get 1/2 distance but not stacking it was restating something we already had, but making it sounds like we would get a double bonus.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s Incense Day featuring Dark & Water. Hopefully some good Pokemon will be caught!
